The First Post

Welcome Moms!

I have been wanting to create this blog for some time now and have finally gotten around to it. This has been a busy, crazy school year so far, and I need a place to share, vent, and brag about my family and my work. And I want to hear about everyone else's family and work too! Please, please, please share what is going on in your family and how work is going. And feel free to pass this blog along to any other working moms you know. We may not have time to cook 3-course, well-balanced meals, but we can take a few minutes to brag on our kids, vent about work, or share words of encouragement with each other!

I'll start by sharing my most recent "working mom" dilemma. I am getting ready to leave for MITC (technology conference) in a couple of hours. I am very excited about this PD opportunity, but I will be gone for 2 days, so I've been preparing for my presentation and to have a sub, while feeling guilty about leaving Michael and Ethan. I know they will be fine without me (Michael is so great about this kind of thing), but I will miss them. Ethan is at such a fun age right now. I know, they are all fun ages, but I'm especially enjoying this one. He is talking A LOT and interacting with us in ways he hasn't been able to before. I wish I could just bring him with me to the conference! Michael says he will take pictures and email them to me to check at the conference! That should help.

Anyway, like I said, I will be using this blog to brag, vent, and share, so please join me!

I totally understand sometimes I feel like I am spending way too much time at work getting ready for the kids and other times I feel like I am being a bad teacher because I stay home all weekend and have no idea what I am teaching my kids on Monday. It is a constant battle to balance everything.

I TOTALLY agree with BOTH of you! It's SO hard to be both a good teacher AND a good mom! (much less a good wife)! I do my best to balance the 3, but teaching and keeping up with a 2 year old just sucks the life out of me, so I barely have anything left for my husband! It's so frustrating at times, but all we can do is the best we can!
